here in Rio, the most violent city in the world some say, if you fall down in the street people will pick you up - this has happened to me personally and I have seen it happen to others, not only pick you up but see that you are OK, a nation of Good Samaritans
so the other morning on my way to work in a taxi, when I saw a woman lying in the street with a number of people standing around her (but not lifting her up or crouching beside her) I knew she was dead, it looked like she had been hit by a car while trying to cross the street at a particularly speedy corner
